The Coolangatta Gold was first run in 1984 and coincided with the filming of a movie of the same name. Featuring the winner of that event, Guy Leech, the movie included many scenes from the actual race and showcased the Gold Coast to Australia and the World. Today the race is televised across the country, and with significant prize money, will attract 190 individuals, some of the most elite Ironmen and women in Australasia. East Coast Car Rentals are proud to sponsor the Ski Leg in 2008 as well as being the official Car Rental supplier to teams, competitors, affiliated sponsor and event crew. This years event will be held on the 19th October, commencing in Surfers Paradise. We will be there to cheer on the competitors and encourage all of the Gold Coast to come along and see the 'best of the best' Swim, Run and Paddle their way to victory. |

| On November 2nd the 2008 F1 Superboat Series comes to the Gold Coast and East Coast Car Rentals is very proud to be the Official Car Rental Supplier and Sponsor of the event. Held in the Marine Stadium, on the Spit, the weekend hosts many teams and crews from Australia, New Zealand as well as the rest of the World. We join with XLR8, The Australian Power Boat Association and the organisers of the F1 Superboat series in welcoming the competitors, crews, affiliated sponsors and visitors to our home, the beautiful Gold Coast. The event is open to the public with views to the course from beaches surrounding the stadium, as well as limited viewing opportunities from the water.
