In the heart of North West Queensland, among the Selwyn Ranges lies Mount Isa. Best known for its abundant mineral supply, Mt Isa is a town that bustles with the constant activities of commerce.
Producing Lead, Silver, Copper and Zinc the Mt Isa mines are perhaps the most productive mines in the world. With the city council looking after the administration for almost 43,000 square kilometres, it was once the largest city in the world.
Despite it’s remoteness and focus on the mining of minerals, Mt Isa has produced some of the countries top sportspersons, including Scott Prince (Rugby League), Gene Miles (Rugby League) and world champions Pat Rafter (Tennis) and Greg Norman (Golf).
