Geraldton, located 450 kilometres north of Perth, is often considered as the regional hub of Mid-West Western Australia.
Industry in Geraldton consists of world leading rock lobster fisheries, gold production and agriculture. Of course, with it beautiful beaches that line the Batavia Coast, it also has a considerable tourism industry.
Originally settled because of it’s rich grazing and farming land, the abundance of lead that could easily be mined for use in the ships of the day, made it an ideal choice.
