In recent years, with it’s rapid development, Mooloolaba has drawn many visitors to the region away from previously favoured spots such as Noosa. Although sometimes critised by locals as becoming too much like the Gold Coast, with its high rise apartments, the sheltered bay of Mooloolaba continues to grow at a rapid rate.

The many attractions around Mooloolaba include the opportunity to scuba dive on the recently sunk HMAS Brisbane. A retired frigate of the Australian Navy. The vessel was sunk approximately 5 kilometres off the coast to form a artificial reef and diving site.

Although accommodation in Mooloolaba is plentiful, popular demand in peak seasons means that it is well advised to book in advance.

Getting to know Mooloolaba and the surrounding areas is advisable before you travel as there is so much to see and do. We recommend the mooloolaba tourism website for more information.
